This 30 to 48 GPM Lakos SandMaster removes sand from your water supply - providing cleaner ice, faucet aerators and drinking water, and keeping appliances, water heaters and sprinklers running at peak efficiency. This unit is easily installed between the well pump and pressure tank. A valve is installed on the sand purge connection for periodic removal of the separated material from the SandMaster tank. This unit is designed for a maximum 48 GPM well flow rate. It is important to be sure your flow rate is within the design range for proper filter action. SandMaster filters designed for use at other flow rates are available.

Description
Measuring Your Flow Rate - You will need to accurately determine the flow rate of your pump into you pressure tank to select the correct model SandMaster (pump ratings are not representative of the actual flow rate - you will need to measure it to select the correct sized unit).
1) Immediately after your pump shuts off, open the faucet between the pressure tank and the house (make sure no other water is running), run water into a container and record the Volume (gallons or liters) of water it takes for pump to start up again. You may have to refill container several times.
2) Record length of Time (in minutes) the pump runs before shutting off again.
3) Divide Volume by Time to determine the actual flow rate (gpm or liters/minute). Select your SandMaster model accordingly.

Housing Material - Standard units have carbon steel construction with plastic internals. For outdoor installation or harsh environments consider the SandMaster Plus with 304 stainless steel construction and plastic internals.
Hardware Mounting Kit - The hardware mounting kit provides proper, dependable support for your SandMaster Separator. Two mounting brackets per kit are supplied.
Visual-Purge - The Visual Purge system provides a manual valve for removing the sand accumulated in your SandMaster''s collection chamber. It easily threads onto the outlet of the SandMaster and contains a see-thru pipe so that you know when to purge the accumulated sand.
Auto-Purge - Easy to install and easy to operate, the auto-purge PurgeMaster system automates the purging of your SandMaster, making it virtually maintenance-free. With the PurgeMaster, the collection chamber of your SandMaster is conveniently flushed clean at intervals you pre-select. Once a day (for normal use) or more often (as necessary). Battery-powered for easy installation where electrical outlets are not available or are impractical.
