| Mild Acid Condition pH Neutralizer |
Many water supplies have a pH value that is very acidic (low) which can cause damage to pipes and fixtures (usually seen as "green" corrosive deposits on and around fixtures), and cause water softening and filtration equipment to operate at less than their peak efficiency. Our automatic backwashing neutralizers are built with the new advanced Autotrol 263 "Performa" valve and 440i control. The timer-based unit controls the backwash cycle, to assure dependability and high efficiency. The 1 cubic foot model can be used for very small applications, with the 1.5 cubic foot model generally used for standard residential applications. Mild Acid Neutralizers (water pH range 6.4 and above or TDS less than 150) are supplied with standard Calcite (calcium carbonate) media. You may want to consider an Chemical Injection System if your water contains a extremely high TDS (total dissolved solids) level. To learn more about selecting the correct system for your application or to get a current analysis of pH and TDS, visit our Choosing A Product page for details. The media tank, manufactured by Structural, is poly lined, fiberglass reinforced and supplied in an off-white color. All tanks are supplied with a dome-hole for easy and quick replenishment of the consumable neutralizer media. Due to the dome-hole access, these units are not available with an optional colored insulating jacket. Filters include a system by-pass valve. | Strong Acid pH Neutralizer |
This unit is equipped with the advanced Autotrol 263 "Performa" valve, and has all the features found in our Mild Acid Condition Neutralizer (above), but is supplied with a full charge of calcite (calcium carbonate) and Corosex (magnesium oxide) mix media. Magnesium oxide is a stronger neutralizing agent, and this unit can be used with water conditions below a pH of 6.4, or when your water contains a high level of TDS (total dissolved solids). Our standard system comes with a 5:1 Calcite:Corosex mix - stronger blends are available as an option. You may want to consider an Chemical Injection System if your water contains a extremely high TDS level. To learn more about selecting the correct system for your application or to get a current analysis of pH and TDS, visit our Choosing A Product page for details. | Manganese Greensand Filter |
Manganese Greensand filters can remove iron, manganese and sulfur from your water! The system operates in a way similar to a water softener, and uses potassium permanganate to regenerate the filter bed. With proper operation the filter media will last three to five years before requiring replacement. The 1 cubic foot model can be used for very small applications, with the 1.5 cubic foot model generally used for standard residential applications. Your water should not contain more than 15 ppm dissolved iron or manganese and 5 ppm hydrogen sulfide - higher concentrations require pre-treatment - please contact the factory for more information. Our automatic backwashing Manganese Greensand filters use the Autotrol 268-FA valve with a timer-based 440i control. The 440i controls the backwash cycle assuring dependability and high efficiency. The media tank, manufactured by Structural, is poly lined, fiberglass reinforced and supplied in an off-white color. For an additional charge, the tank can be supplied with an optional colored insulating cover in almond, if specified as an option. A system by-pass valve is included. Potassium permanganate is available in 30 pound case quantities - this material is also commonly available at local plumbing supply and hardware stores.
